Plank Trail Apartments Groundbreaking
Local government leaders joined Sheboygan Falls Chamber Main Street members and development partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Plank Trail Apartments complex on the west end of Happy Lane in the city of Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
During the construction kickoff ceremony, Doneff Companies Project Developer and Owner Anton Doneff Sr. expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation from the city of Sheboygan Falls.
“Everyone with whom we have been in contact with, from the mayor to city officials and staff have been great to work with,” Doneff said. “We look forward to investing in Sheboygan Falls and providing quality housing for the expanding workforce in the area.”
To accommodate the Plank Trail Apartment project and potential additional development in the area, the city is currently in the process of extending Happy Lane to the west.
According to Sheboygan Falls Mayor Randy Meyer, the project fills a need for housing in the area and helps to expand the city’s developmental reach.
“We have enjoyed partnering with Anton Doneff,” Meyer said. “The added infrastructure made possible by the Plank Trail Apartments increases the development prospects of the surrounding area, while developing a unique piece of property with wetland challenges. The speed of the road building and apartment building is impressive to see.”
Upon completion, Plank Trail Apartments will consist of 104 one and two-bedroom apartment homes, ranging in size from 900 to over 1,100 square feet.
The apartments will feature in-unit washers and dryers, walk-in closets, luxury plank flooring and individual garages.
Doneff indicated that contractors are currently working diligently on site with framing scheduled to begin this month with the first building scheduled for completion in early 2019.
